Oil painting from artist memories of the Amazon Rainforest in the Madre de Dios (=mother of God) region of southern Perú, especially of the Río Tavora, and the Bolivian Río Tiuchi.

The initial sketches
Preparatory sketches were done during the filming of the ‘Candamo’ series filmed for Peruvian TV and the documentary “Candamo: Journey Beyond Hell” where the artist worked as an artistic director and cameraman.

Recording precious memories

The forest records the artist experience of the rich play of light and vistas through megadiversity forest, where the lowland rainforest transitions to sloping Montane forest at the foot of the Andes.

Since the artists film was destroyed, he decided to ‘record’ his memories of the forest in a single painting, without the use of photographs. Can you spot the hidden animals?
In the painting are 15 animals, they are not all obvious, and some hidden, as in the nature of the rainforest, can you find them all? some are very small!
